Madeline is a Clinical Psychologist who works with older adolescents and adults. She has particular expertise in the treatment of depression and anxiety including post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety disorder, phobias and depression. She also has experience working with low self esteem and issues related to living with a disability. Madeline works utilising Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). She is committed to providing evidence based treatment and strives to work with her clients as effectively and efficiently as possible. Madeline believes that a good rapport with her clients creates the foundations of successful therapy.
Madeline completed her Honours Degree in Psychology at the University of Sydney in 2003. Being committed to a career in clinical psychology she then moved to Melbourne to complete her Masters in Clincial Psychology at the Australian Catholic University which she completed in 2005. In 2006 she began working at Vision Australia providing psychological assessments and counselling to clients with vision impairments and blindness. Madeline moved to the UK where she took a position working for the National Health Service in East London. Here she worked as part of a pilot project that was developed to increase access to psychological therapies across the UK. She worked with moderate to severe mood and anxiety disorders and enhanced her skills in the CBT treatment of such problems. She also worked with post traumatic stress and worked commonly with clients who were asylum seekers and refugees. She gained experience in providing therapy thorugh interpreters. In 2010 she travelled back to Australia and is now living and working in Sydney.
Madeline is committed to providing effective therapy to her clients. She believes strongly in the need for continued training and keeping up to date with her therapeutic skills. She enjoys working with clients from all walks of life and feels grateful to all her clients who have shared their stories with her.
Madeline is a member of the Australian College of Clinical Psychologists and the Australian Psychological Society along with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists. She is registered to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
